Henry Ikoh Challenges APC Governorship Primary Results

Henry Ikoh, a former Minister of State for Science and Technology, has submitted a petition to the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the results of the governorship primary in Abia State. He formally challenged the declaration of Chief Eric Opiah as the winner, expressing surprise at the outcome despite what he described as valid documents supporting a consensus arrangement.

Ikoh maintains that the party's guidelines allow for a consensus candidate, which he believes was achieved through extensive consultations among party stakeholders. He emphasized the need for unity within the party to produce a broadly accepted candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

Ikoh's appeal to the APC members in Abia State calls for calm and confidence in the appeal committee, asserting the importance of upholding truth and safeguarding the credibility of the party.
