Henry Udeh Elected Labour Party Chairman in Ebonyi

Henry Udeh has emerged as the Labour Party Chairman in Ebonyi State after a consensus-based congress held on Saturday at the party's secretariat in Abakaliki. The congress, which attracted significant party faith and stakeholders, resulted in Udeh's unanimous election through a voice vote.

The event was seconded by Christian Mayor Iduma and adopted without dissent, reflecting strong internal cohesion within the state chapter. Key figures in attendance included Splendor Oko, the party's 2023 governorship candidate, and Ezeh Emmanuel Ezeh from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Udeh pledged to deliver inclusive and transparent leadership, emphasizing grassroots participation and the importance of aligning the party's structure for effective operation. He noted that candidates would be chosen based on popular acceptance rather than financial capacity.

The congress was described as peaceful and orderly, compliant with established guidelines, and aimed at strengthening the party's influence ahead of the 2027 elections.
