Herder and 11 Cattle Killed in Rivers Road Accident

In Rivers, a tragic road accident occurred when a speeding vehicle collided with a herd of cattle, resulting in the death of an 11-year-old herder and several cattle. Residents reported that the cattle were crossing the road when the vehicle struck them.

The occupants of the vehicle, who were traveling in a convoy, abandoned the damaged car and fled in another vehicle. Police operatives from the Emohua Division responded to the scene, evacuating the herder's body to the mortuary and transporting an injured herder to the hospital, where he is now stable.

ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that the investigation is ongoing. Kaborlo noted that the owner of the vehicle had fled before police arrived, and the deceased's family took the body away.

The police continue to gather information regarding the incident.
