APC Denies Pressuring Governor Adeleke to Switch Parties

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims made by former governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola that Governor Ademola Adeleke is under pressure to leave the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the APC. In a statement issued in Osogbo on Thursday, APC spokesperson Kola Olabisi described Oyinlola's assertions as false and misleading, stating that there is no movement within the party to pressure Adeleke to defect.

Olabisi clarified that while Adeleke is exploring the possibility of joining the APC, the party does not welcome such a move. He further challenged Adeleke to publicly identify any alleged pressure from the APC, asserting that the claims are exaggerated and unfounded.

The APC maintains that the PDP's internal issues are self-inflicted and not the fault of the APC. The statement comes amidst speculation regarding Adeleke's political future ahead of the 2026 governorship elections, with the PDP asserting its commitment to serving the people of Osun State.
