Oyo Students Urge FERMA for Speed Breakers on Highway

Students from Baptist Secondary Grammar School in Ago-Aar, Oyo State, have urgently requested the Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to install speed breakers on the Ago-Aar Saki Road. This appeal arises from safety concerns as heavy-duty trucks frequently use the route, posing significant risks to students and staff crossing the busy highway.

The students, represented by Emmanuel Ayantoy, expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu and FERMA's Emeka Agbasi for ongoing road maintenance but emphasized the need for immediate safety measures to prevent potential accidents. Despite recent improvements, the school's location directly along the highway exposes the community to dangers from high-speed traffic.

The students have raised alarms through social media, highlighting the critical safety threat at the school entrance. They advocate for the installation of pedestrian crossing signs and speed breakers to ensure the safety of all.

The appeal has gained traction, but as of the report, there has been no response from the Federal Ministry of Works.
