Shehu Critiques Obasanjo, Buhari, Praises Jonathan's Legacy

Mahdi Shehu, a public affairs commentator, has made critical remarks about former Nigerian leaders Olusegun Obasanjo and Muhammadu Buhari, while he praised Goodluck Jonathan for his selfless act of conceding defeat in the 2015 presidential election. Shehu highlighted that Jonathan's character flaws would be viewed positively by history, particularly for his decision to surrender power to avoid bloodshed among innocent Nigerians.

In his critique, Shehu accused Obasanjo of harboring negative traits, suggesting that he would continue to reap the consequences of his actions characterized by treachery, hate, greed, and selfishness. Furthermore, Shehu assessed Buhari's eight-year presidency, stating that historians would document it as marked by ineptitude and a lack of capacity, which he claims has led to the destruction of the nation.

He also questioned Obasanjo's current interventions in national issues, implying that they are motivated by personal vendettas rather than genuine concern for the country.
