Dame Dr. Obiageri Oguzie’s Burial Rites Set for June 27

Hon. Jennifer Oguzie's mother, Dame Dr.

Mr. Obiageri Phoeb Oguzie, will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in Imo State, following her passing on May 19, 2026, at the age of 65.

Dame Oguzie was a prominent educationist and public administrator, recognized for her contributions to improving educational access and quality in Imo State. She held several significant positions, including Chairman of the Imo State Education Management Board and Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Education.

Her funeral rites will commence on Friday with a service at St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Aladinma, Owerri, and will include a requiem service scheduled for 10:00 AM on the day of burial.

The ceremony will conclude with a thanksgiving service on Sunday, June 28, 2026. Dame Oguzie was also a committed member of the Anglican Communion and actively involved in community development initiatives, earning her the title of Dame Knight of St.

Christopher.
