Hood FC Wins 2026 5Stars Premier League Championship

Hood FC of Abuja has been crowned the national champions of the 2026 5Stars Premier League after a decisive 4-1 victory against Lagos-based Sir J FC in the grand finale. The match took place at the Showtime Arena in Lekki, Lagos, on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

After a competitive first half that ended in a 1-1 draw, Hood FC dominated the second half, scoring three unanswered goals to secure the title. This victory allows Hood FC to retain Abuja's dominance in the competition, as no team from another region has won the title since the league's inception in 2019.

Along with the championship trophy, Hood FC received a grand prize of N4 million. The eighth edition of the league, titled “The Reawakening 8,” garnered support from corporate partners such as MTN Nigeria, PUMA Nigeria, and Devon King’s.

Additionally, international grassroots football advocate Ricky Weir provided sporting equipment and engaged with players during the finals, highlighting the tournament's role in showcasing emerging talents to international scouts and football agents.
