Ondo APC Leaders Reject Automatic Ticket Claims

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have dismissed allegations of a plot to secure automatic tickets for incumbent lawmakers ahead of the 2027 general elections. Mr. Adegboyega Adefarati emphasized the importance of due process and adherence to the party's internal democratic processes.

During a stakeholders' meeting held at Owalagba Town Hall, they adopted Dr. Victor Ategbol as the consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat, a decision reached after extensive consultations among party leaders from 11 wards in Akoko South East and 15 wards in Akoko South West. Despite this consensus, the incumbent lawmaker rejected the decision, arguing that Ategbol's candidacy would not reflect the constituency's voting strength.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous vote supporting Ategbol, with stakeholders urging the APC leadership at both state and national levels to respect the collective will of the party members. Meanwhile, a crisis has emerged in the Ebonyi State chapter of the APC regarding primary elections.
