Nigerian House Urges Tinubu to Combat Bandits in Gombe State

The Nigerian House of Representatives has called on Bola Tinubu to urgently instruct the Chief of Defence Staff to lead joint security operations to eradicate bandits in Gombe State. This resolution comes after bandit attacks in Garin Galadima, Pindiga, Garin Jaji, and Laro communities in Akko Local Government Area resulted in six deaths and 20 abductions.

The House expressed concern over the fear and displacement caused by these attacks and emphasized the need for enhanced security measures. The House urged the President to direct the NEMA and NEDC to provide relief materials to affected communities and deploy more security forces to maintain law and order.

Additionally, the House mandated its committees to ensure compliance with security measures and receive weekly reports until the situation is under control.
