Nigerian House Urges Tinubu to Direct Military Operation Against Bandits in Gombe State

The Nigerian House of Representatives has called on Bola Tinubu to instruct the Chief of Defence Staff to eradicate bandits in Gombe State following recent attacks. The motion, prompted by Chief Whip Usman Kumo, highlights the insecurity in the region, citing recent bandit attacks resulting in casualties, abductions, and property destruction.

The House urges the provision of relief materials by NEMA and NEDC to affected communities in Akko Local Government Area. Additionally, the President is urged to command the armed forces to enhance security operations to prevent further attacks.

The Inspector General of Police is also directed to deploy mobile police forces to maintain law and order. The House mandates its committees to oversee disaster preparedness and security compliance, requiring weekly reports until the situation is under control.
