FG Transfers 116 Housing Units to Benue State Government

On July 1, 2026, the Federal Government of Nigeria formally handed over 116 completed housing units to the Benue State Government in a ceremony held at the Government House in Makurdi. Engr Muttaqha Rabe Darma, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, described the event as a milestone in the federal government's commitment to delivering decent housing and improving living conditions for Nigerians under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda.

The handover reflects a collaborative effort to expand access to affordable housing and address Nigeria's housing deficit. Dr Eunic Ogbeniyi received the housing units on behalf of Benue State Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, who was commended for his commitment to improving the welfare of civil servants and citizens.

The acquisition of these housing units is part of a broader strategy to enhance socio-economic outcomes and promote human dignity, public health, and community stability in the state.
