Ita Transfers Housing Ministry Leadership to Darma

On a recent date, Yusuf Abdullahi Ita formally handed over the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to the newly appointed Minister, Engr Muttaqha Rabe Darma, during a ceremony held at the ministry's headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja. This transition followed Darma's confirmation and swearing-in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Ita described the handover as a solemn responsibility and expressed his commitment to supporting Darma in advancing the ministry's agenda. He acknowledged the contributions of former minister Ahm Musa Dangiwa, who laid a strong policy framework for sector-wide reforms.

Ita outlined major achievements in housing delivery, including public-private partnerships that have created approximately 300,000 direct and indirect jobs across 17 states. He also noted ongoing reforms in land administration and the challenges posed by funding constraints and delays in budgetary allocations.

Ita expressed confidence in Darma's ability to consolidate gains and pledged full cooperation from the ministry's staff.
