Housing Ministry Partners with TEC Engineering for Development

The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development is actively pursuing a partnership with TEC Engineering Company Nigeria Limited to enhance large-scale housing development and urban renewal initiatives. This initiative was announced by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Shuaib Belgore, during a courtesy visit from the company in Abuja.

Belgore emphasized Nigeria's openness to investments that support national development, particularly in addressing the country's housing deficit, which is estimated at around 15 million units. The ministry is exploring various strategies, including direct construction and Public-Private Partnerships, to provide affordable housing.

Belgore highlighted the need for collaboration with private sector entities capable of delivering large housing projects. He also discussed the broader urban renewal program, which includes improving infrastructure such as roads, water supply, and healthcare facilities.

Zhao Jinxiang, President of China Railway International Group, acknowledged TEC Engineering's ongoing project in Kano and expressed commitment to overcoming challenges in the reconstruction efforts.
