Adeleke Wins Osun 2026 Election with Wider Margin

Ademola Adeleke has successfully secured a second term as Governor of Osun State in the 2026 election, achieving a significantly wider margin than in 2022. In 2022, Adeleke, then the candidate, received 403,371 votes, defeating APC's Gboyega Oyetola, who garnered 375,027 votes, resulting in a margin of 28,344 votes.

In the 2026 election, running on the platform of the Accord Party, Adeleke received 511,067 votes, while APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji polled 444,815 votes, giving Adeleke a margin of 66,252 votes, an increase of 37,908 votes over his previous margin. Adeleke won 19 local government areas (LGAs) compared to 17 in 2022, while the APC's victories decreased from 13 to 11 LGAs.

Adeleke's increased vote total of 107,696 votes indicates an expanded support base. Key areas contributing to his success included Ede North, Ede South, Osogbo, and Ife East.

Despite the loss, the APC remained competitive in certain areas, such as Irewole and Boripe.
