Female Law Student Dies After Fall at Lagos Campus

Alayande, a student of the Nigerian Law School, Enugu Campus, was temporarily staying at the Lagos campus hostel for her externship when she tragically fell from the rooftop at approximately 4:00 am on Friday, August 7, 2026. The Nigerian Law School issued a statement signed by Aderonke O.

Osho, Secretary to the Council and Director of Administration, detailing the incident. Preliminary information suggests that Alayande succumbed to her injuries after being found unresponsive by a hostel mate and a relative, who discovered a note believed to have been written by her.

The Lagos State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the hostel matron reported the case, and police operatives subsequently evacuated the body to a morgue while an investigation commenced. The Law School expressed deep sorrow over the loss and extended condolences to Alayande's family and peers, urging the public and media to respect the family's privacy during this difficult time.
