How Nigerians Can Join the U.S. Army in 2026

Many Nigerians aspire to serve in the U.S. Army for various benefits, but misconceptions exist about the recruitment process.

The U.S. Army does not recruit individuals living in Nigeria without legal status in the United States and does not sponsor immigration visas for foreign nationals.

To enlist, Nigerians must first obtain legal permanent residency through pathways such as family sponsorship or employment. Once they have legal status, lawful permanent residents can enlist and may qualify for expedited naturalization.
