Rainstorm in Niger Claims Life of 3-Year-Old Girl

A tragic incident occurred in Niger when a rainstorm around 12 AM on Monday led to the death of a 3-year-old girl. The girl was sleeping alongside her mother and five siblings when their home collapsed due to the heavy rain.

The mother and her five children sustained severe injuries, with the mother suffering a broken leg. They were rushed to the hospital around 1 AM, where the girl was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The father, who works menial jobs in Kiama, Kwara State, was informed of the incident. Galadima Audu, a resident, reported the event, while Jibrin Abdullahi Muregi, the council chairman, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview.

The extent of the damage is still being assessed, but the rainstorm destroyed homes and properties worth millions of naira, leaving families displaced.
