Ex-Gov Dariye Scammed with Fake ₦250M Luxury Watch

Former Plateau State Governor Joshua Dariye fell victim to scammers who sold him a fake luxury watch worth ₦250 million. Dariye reported the scam to the police, accusing Emmanuel Odogwu and Franklin Gideon of selling him a counterfeit Polo wristwatch.

The scammers posed as luxury brand representatives and convinced Dariye to purchase the watch. Investigations revealed the suspects' identities, with one being Franklyn Ojo Jatto Gideon.

Dariye alleged criminal conspiracy and fraud against the scammers, who reportedly converted the money through a Bureau de Change.
