Two Arrested for Kidnapping Three-Day-Old Baby in Nasarawa

On March 28, 2026, Aisha Bada, a 19-year-old resident of Unguwan Bako, Karu Local Government Area, reported that unknown individuals had kidnapped her three-day-old baby while she was asleep. The Nasarawa State Police Command, led by spokesman Ramhan Nansel, initiated a full-scale investigation following the report.

On March 29, police arrested two suspects, Furera Abdulrahman, 35, and Sadiya Abdullahi, 39, both from Unguwan Bako. The baby was recovered during the operation and taken to a medical center in Mararaba, where doctors confirmed the child was in good health before reuniting the baby with the parents.

The suspects confessed to the crime during interrogation and implicated an accomplice who is still at large. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lafia for further investigation.

The police reassured the public of their commitment to protecting lives and property and urged citizens to report any suspicious activities.
