NNPC Launches Self-Service Fuel Pumps via App

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has initiated a self-service fuel dispensing system at selected NNPC Retail stations, allowing motorists to use a mobile application to purchase petrol. This new model is part of NNPC's strategy to establish between 50 and 70 smart, self-service stations nationwide within the next six months.
Unlike traditional methods where attendants dispense fuel, customers can select their desired fuel amount, make payments through the NRL Fuel App, and activate the pump using a generated code. NNPC Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mumuni Dagazau, stated that this transformation aims to convert conventional filling stations into comprehensive energy and mobility hubs.
Shettima Baba-Kukawa, NNPC Retail Executive Director, Retail Operations and Mobility, emphasized that customers can complete transactions on their phones and dispense the exact amount of fuel purchased. The smart stations will also offer additional services, including electric vehicle charging and liquefied petroleum gas.
