NAFDAC Launches Reporting Channels for Drug Safety Issues

NAFDAC Launches Reporting Channels for Drug Safety Issues

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has established various channels for Nigerians to report suspected fake, substandard, and unregistered medicines, along with adverse reactions to drugs and other regulated medical products. Consumers are encouraged to report any unusual or adverse reactions through the MedSafety app, available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

Reports can also be submitted via email or through the e-reporting platform on NAFDAC's official website. Additionally, individuals suspecting a medical product to be falsified or substandard can utilize the NAFDAC Greenbook application for reporting.

Other reporting channels include the Greenbook web platform and a dedicated telephone number, 0800-162-3322. NAFDAC advises consumers to verify a product's registration status using its registration number on the NAFDAC Automated Product Administration and Monitoring System portal.

Regulated stakeholders needing to recall products must notify NAFDAC and follow the appropriate procedures.
