Lagos Police Neutralize Four Kidnappers in Ejigbo

On May 24, 2026, at approximately 9:30 PM, the Lagos State Police Command, led by State Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai, neutralized four kidnappers in Ejigbo. The operation was initiated following credible intelligence regarding a planned abduction of a businessman at Jakand Estate.

The suspects belonged to a notorious gang known for targeting wealthy individuals. The gang leader, identified as Ifeanyi M K Ifeko, was allegedly coordinating the operation from abroad.

During the engagement, the police faced gunfire from the suspects, leading to a gun battle where four gang members were neutralized. An inspector sustained a gunshot injury to the left leg and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The police recovered significant evidence, including a Toyota Sienna vehicle, AK-47 rifles, and live ammunition. The operation reflects the police's commitment to combating crime in Lagos, with ten suspects arrested for various offenses in the preceding month.
