Lagos Police Disrupt Kidnapping Syndicate in Hotel Raid

The Lagos State Police Command uncovered a kidnapping syndicate operating from a hotel room in the Bucknor area, which was used to plan abductions across the state. On May 24, police foiled an attempt to kidnap a businessman at Jakande Estate, resulting in a gun battle that led to the deaths of four suspects.

The gang, believed to be targeting wealthy individuals, operated with military-style coordination, causing fear among residents. Investigations revealed that the suspects, including Onwukwalu Junior Ifeanyi and others, had international travel histories and were linked to a broader network outside Nigeria.

Police recovered a Toyota Sienna, AK-47 rifles, and live ammunition at the scene. Further searches at the hotel revealed travel bags, clothing, electronic items, and foreign passports, including those of Kouadio Yve Alexandr and Nzerib Izuchukwu Victor.

The police assured residents that efforts would continue to dismantle the criminal network and prevent similar incidents.
