Huba Chiefdom Celebrates First Anniversary in Adamawa

The Huba Chiefdom in Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State, celebrated its first anniversary over the weekend with a vibrant ceremony at the mini township stadium, attracting thousands of residents, traditional rulers, political leaders, and former secretaries. Mustapha, CFR, who chaired the event, described the restoration of the chiefdom as a significant civilizational achievement, formally acknowledging the deep historical roots and resilient heritage of the Huba people.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was honored with the traditional title of Midala Huba for his role in creating the chiefdom, which was established in December 2024 and officially presented on February 14, 2025. Mustapha praised Fintiri's visionary leadership for correcting long-standing historical imbalances and restoring the dignity of the Huba people.

The anniversary program included cultural dances, a mini durbar, an inter-district football tournament, and the unveiling of a development plan for community growth. Mustapha emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in peacebuilding and grassroots development within Nigeria's evolving governance landscape.
