‘I can never get over it’ – Niniola on witnessing her father’s assassination

Nigerian singer Niniola opened up about the lasting trauma she experienced after witnessing her father, retired Nigerian Army officer Simeon Apata, being assassinated in 1995. In a recent interview, Niniola revealed the difficulty of coming to terms with the loss, stating that she was her late father's favorite child.

The singer, known for hits like "Maradona" and "Boda Sodiq," expressed that the memory of her father's murder still haunts her, emphasizing the impact it had on her as a young child. Niniola's sister, fellow singer Teni, also shared the pain of witnessing their father's assassination at a tender age, leaving them both traumatized.
