Prosecutor Declares Support for Sowore in Court

During a court session on Monday, a prosecutor, Kehind San, handling the cyberstalking case against Omoyele Sowore, the president of the African Action Congress, made a surprising declaration that he could vote for Sowore in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. This statement arose amid a heated exchange with Sowore's lead counsel, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, who accused the prosecutor of personal bias.

The court was addressing Sowore's bail conditions, with the prosecutor arguing for his remand due to alleged non-compliance. Deji Adeyanju, a human rights lawyer, testified as a defense witness, presenting video evidence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from August 25, 2025, which was admitted into court.

Adeyanju emphasized that social media platforms allow users to express opinions freely. The case was adjourned until July 13, 2026, with Justice Moham Umar urging compliance with bail conditions.
