Ooni Denies Bestowing Title on Baba Ijesha Amid Visit

Ooni's director of media and public affairs, Otunba Mose Olafar, explained that Baba Ijesha received a brand new car and cash gift as a demonstration of fatherly love. The Ooni's remarks about Baba Ijesha were intended as light-hearted humor and did not constitute a formal installation or conferment of a traditional title.

Although Baba Ijesha is an indigene of Ilorin and may deserve honors in the future, the Ooni emphasized that any chieftaincy title must follow established traditional processes. No customary procedures were conducted during the actor's visit, and the Ooni urged the media and the public to disregard any claims of Baba Ijesha being installed as "Awada Kong Oduwa.".
