Ooni of Ife Honors Baba Ijesha with Chieftaincy Title

The Ooni of Ife conferred a chieftaincy title on Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, widely recognized as Baba Ijesha, and presented him with a brand new car. Baba Ijesha shared his appreciation for the honor and the warm reception he received from the monarch in a Facebook post late Thursday.

His wife, Afolashad Omiyinka, known as Lumine, also revealed that Baba Ijesha was bestowed the chieftaincy title of Baba Awada Kong Oduwa. This development follows the recent celebration of the actor's partner, Lumine, welcoming their son, King Kagar Omiyinka, as announced by Baba Ijesha on Instagram.

He expressed gratitude for the birth of their child, describing the newborn as a blessing to the family. Notably, Baba Ijesha was sentenced to 16 years in prison in July 2022 for sexual assault against a minor, with his release scheduled for November 2025, meaning he will spend three years in prison.
