Senator Lau Denies Court Action Over APC Primary Results

Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau, representing Taraba North, publicly denied allegations that he filed a lawsuit against the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and his opponent, Kabiru Bello Badawair, regarding the senatorial primary election results. Reports circulating on social media suggested that Lau sought a court declaration to affirm his candidacy for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement made over the weekend in Jalingo, Lau described these reports as entirely false and misleading, asserting that he had not initiated any legal action against his opponent or the APC. He urged party members and the public to disregard the misleading claims, warning that such misinformation could create unnecessary tension within the party.

Lau expressed confidence in the legitimacy of the primary election results and reaffirmed his commitment to representing the people of Taraba North, calling for unity within the party as they move forward in political activities.
