Aisha Yesufu Reflects on 2015 APC Vote Decision

Aisha Yesufu, a chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, expressed that she does not regret her decision to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 presidential election. In a recent interview with the Kaa Truth podcast, she clarified that her vote was influenced by the selection of Yemi Osinbajo as the vice presidential candidate, rather than her support for former president Muhammadu Buhari.

Yesufu noted that her decision was based on the belief that Buhari would delegate significant responsibilities, particularly economic management, to Osinbajo. She stated, “I don’t regret voting for Buhari,” and emphasized that the poor performance of former president Goodluck Jonathan made Buhari a more acceptable choice in 2015.

Yesufu highlighted that her vote was specifically for Osinbajo, citing Buhari's historical tendency to delegate duties during his time as a military head of state, where Tunde Idiagbon was in charge.
