Aisha Yesufu Reflects on Voting APC in 2015 Elections

Aisha Yesufu, a chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed that she does not regret voting for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 elections, attributing her decision to the choice of Yemi Osinbajo as the vice-presidential candidate. In an interview with the Kaa Truth podcast, Yesufu clarified that her vote was not motivated by then-presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari but rather by the belief that Osinbajo would effectively manage the economy.

She noted that Buhari's history of delegating responsibilities, as seen during his time as a military head of state, influenced her decision. Yesufu remarked, “I didn’t vote for that ticket for Buhari but because of Pastor Yemi Osinbajo,” emphasizing her confidence in Osinbajo's capabilities.

She also reflected on the political climate leading up to the 2015 elections, stating that the poor performance of former President Goodluck Jonathan made Buhari a more acceptable choice for voters.
