Wike Initiates Investigation on ADC Convention Block

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), commented on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) being denied access to the Rainbow Event Centre for their national convention scheduled for February 14, 2026. Wike denied allegations that he ordered the venue's license revocation and stated that an investigation has been initiated to identify the officials involved in the matter.

He emphasized that the ADC should not blame external factors for their challenges, asserting that they have already charted a path to failure. Despite the ADC's attempts to hold their convention, Wike noted that it eventually took place.

Additionally, he encouraged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to contest in the 2031 elections, recalling that Atiku's chances in 2027 are slim. Wike made these statements during an inspection tour of ongoing road projects in the Kuje Area Council on Thursday, where he also criticized Atiku's frequent attacks on the current administration, arguing that President Bola Tinubu has performed better than Atiku did during his time in office.
