Umahi Claims He "Killed" PDP, Affirms Friendship with Wike

Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, declared that he "killed" the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when he departed from it and intends to ensure its continued demise. This statement was made during his inspection of the Abakaliki-Afikpo section of the Cross River-Ebonyi-Benue-Abuja Trans-Saharan Highway.

Umahi referred to Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, as his "good friend and brother," but asserted that there is no Rainbow Coalition in Ebonyi State. He mentioned that if Wike has candidates in the state, he has not communicated this to Umahi, and such candidates would not affect their relationship.

Umahi criticized the PDP for not treating the Southeast well despite their support and votes for PDP presidents, stating that they were not honored and were maltreated. He expressed hope in the APC and its candidates in Ebonyi State, asserting that anyone wishing to campaign in the state is welcome, but those intending to create unrest will be expelled.
