Bwala Explains Decision to Campaign Against Tinubu

Daniel Bwala, a former spokesperson for the APC, revealed his reasons for leaving the party and campaigning against President Bola Tinubu. In an interview with Al Jazeera journalist Mehdi Hasan, Bwala stated that he opposed Tinubu's Muslim-Muslim ticket, which he believed contradicted principles of unity and inclusivity.

He left the APC in mid-2022 and joined the People's Democratic Party (PDP), where he became a spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar's presidential campaign against Tinubu in early 2024. Bwala emphasized the need for political adaptation and engagement with citizens, noting a gradual change in Tinubu's governance approach.

He argued that supporting Tinubu would mean returning to the APC, which he believes is not in the best interest of national unity. Bwala's shift reflects a broader call for unity over party divisions in Nigeria.
