Former head of the Microcredit Agency, Olumide, who was sacked last Sunday, expressed his lack of confidence in Governor Oyebanji's leadership. He claimed his dismissal was not due to corruption, as the governor suggested, but rather linked to his support for governorship aspirant Kayode Ojo in the upcoming 2026 Ekiti governorship election.

Governor Oyebanji stated that Olumide was removed due to gross misconduct and dereliction of duty, as part of efforts to instil discipline and accountability in public service. However, Olumide countered these allegations, maintaining that his ouster was purely political and based on his support for Ojo.

He emphasized his belief in Ojo's candidacy as a beacon of hope for the people of Ekiti.
