Oyebanji Dissolves Ekiti Cabinet, Retains Key Commissioners

Ekiti State Governor, Oyebanji, has dissolved the state cabinet while retaining key commissioners in their positions. The directive was issued in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Habibat Adubiaro, instructing affected commissioners and special advisers to hand over to the Permanent Secretary or senior civil servant in their respective ministries.

The Governor expressed gratitude to the departing officials for their contributions to his administration. Notably, several commissioners were retained, including the Attorney General, Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security, among others.

Some special advisers and directors general also remained in the cabinet. While no official reason was given for the dissolution, political observers speculate that it may be linked to the upcoming gubernatorial primary scheduled for October 2, 2025.
