Reekado Banks, known for his rise to fame with Mavin Records, reflected on his decision to leave the label in 2018 and start his own, Banks Music. The artist, who gained recognition after winning the Rookie of the Year at the Headies in 2014 and the controversial Next Rated award in 2015, admitted in a recent interview with Teddy Echoo Room that he realized his departure from Mavin Records was premature.

Banks explained that he began handling his music business independently and clarified that his exit was not due to any disagreements but because his contract had ended. He emphasized that he took a bold step in leaving the label instead of renewing his contract after two years.
