IBEDC Apologizes for Power Outages in Ogun, Oyo, Kwara

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) issued an apology to Band A customers in Ogun, Oyo, and Kwara states following significant electricity supply disruptions on Monday. The company reported that several feeders failed to meet their mandated daily supply hours, with some experiencing zero hours of electricity.

The disruptions were attributed to a combination of technical faults, load shedding, forced outages, and disconnections due to non-payment. Specific feeders affected included the Water Works (Ojere) 33kV feeder, which serves the Arakanga Water Scheme and Iberekodo in Abeokuta, and the Railway (Papa) 33kV feeder, supplying the Papalanto Train Station, both of which recorded no supply due to disconnection for non-payment.

Other feeders experienced outages due to various operational challenges, including overcurrent and earth faults. IBEDC acknowledged the operational difficulties and expressed regret for the inability to deliver the estimated hours of supply.
