IBEDC Supports Arrests Over Electricity Vandalism in Osun

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has expressed approval of the recent arrests made by the Osun State Police Command concerning the vandalization of its electricity infrastructure in Ikirun, Osun State. Four IBEDC staff members and two welders were apprehended for allegedly damaging electrical equipment belonging to the company.

Angela Olanrewaju, the Coordinating Head of Corporate Services at IBEDC, stated that the company is fully cooperating with the Nigeria Police Force to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation. In light of the allegations, IBEDC has suspended the implicated staff members pending the investigation's outcome and will implement appropriate internal disciplinary measures against any staff found guilty.

The company reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards vandalism and theft of electricity infrastructure, emphasizing the negative impact such acts have on electricity supply and customer service. IBEDC urged community members to report any suspicious activities related to electricity infrastructure.
