Kogi Governor Ododo Declares Mourning for Ibrahim Idris

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo expressed profound sorrow over the death of former Governor Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing it as a significant loss to both Kogi State and Nigeria. In response, Governor Ododo declared a three-day mourning period, directing that the national and Kogi state flags be flown at half-mast across government offices and designated public institutions.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, conveyed that Governor Ododo visited the Idris family to offer condolences. In a letter, Ododo emphasized that Idris's death deprived the state of an eminent leader who dedicated much of his life to public service.

The Kogi State Government will cover all burial expenses and arrange a state burial for Idris, who served as governor from 2003 to 2011, during which he made significant contributions to infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Governor Ododo urged the family to find strength in Idris's enduring legacy of service.
