ICPC Tracks N1bn Federal Projects in Osun for Accountability

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) has commenced tracking federal government-funded projects worth over N1 billion in Osun. Mrs. Mary Oke, the agency’s tracking Team Lead, announced this initiative on Wednesday in Osogbo.

The purpose of the tracking exercise is to ensure that government-funded projects deliver value for money and adhere to specifications. The projects under scrutiny include road construction, solar-powered street lights, skill acquisition and empowerment programmes, as well as grants for vulnerable groups such as widows, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.

The tracking will span the three senatorial districts of Osun: Osun Central, Osun East, and Osun West. Oke emphasized the importance of community involvement and support from civil society organizations to aid the commission in achieving its objectives of promoting accountability and transparency in public project implementation.
