ICPC Tracks N530m Projects in Jigawa for Accountability

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is currently tracking projects valued at N530 million in Jigawa State. Farouq Umar, the leader of the ICPC tracking team, disclosed this information during a briefing with journalists in Dutse, the state capital.

The primary aim of this exercise is to inspect various Constituency and Executive projects to ensure they are executed according to approved specifications, thereby ensuring value for taxpayers' money. This initiative is part of phase 8B of the project tracking exercise, which assesses the status of various projects to ensure public resources are utilized effectively for quality infrastructure and services.

Umar provided details on the projects under scrutiny, which include boreholes, solar-powered street lights, and empowerment programs. He urged stakeholders, including community members and civil society organizations, to support the initiative by providing information on any wrongdoings.

Umar also called on residents to protect completed government infrastructure from vandalism.
