ICPC Launches NYSC Anti-Corruption Unit in Abuja

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) inaugurated the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) at the Scheme’s National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja. ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, represented by Mr. Olusegun Adigun, emphasized the importance of the ACTU in enhancing internal accountability and promoting ethical conduct within the NYSC.

He stated that the ACTU is designed to complement the NYSC Management rather than compete with it. The establishment of ACTUs across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) aims to strengthen anti-corruption mechanisms in the public service.

Aliyu urged the newly inducted 11 members to conduct sensitization and training programs to foster anti-corruption awareness. He also called on the NYSC Management to support the Unit's operations.

NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, reiterated the organization's commitment to integrity and zero tolerance for corruption, highlighting the collective responsibility in the fight against corruption.
