ICPC Chairman Advocates for Global Anti-Corruption Lessons
Dr. Musa Aliyu, the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), called for Nigeria to learn from global best practices in the fight against corruption. This statement was made during the Second Edition of the International Diplomatic Dialogue organized by the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN) at the ICPC Headquarters in Abuja.
The dialogue, themed ‘Experience Sharing in Anti-Corruption Strategy: The Indonesian Perspective’, facilitated knowledge exchange between Nigeria and Indonesia regarding anti-corruption strategies and reforms. Represented by Mr. Clifford Okwudiri Oparaodu, the ICPC Chairman noted that corruption is a global issue with significant consequences, and countries can enhance their responses by adopting effective approaches from others.
He highlighted Indonesia’s experience through its Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as particularly instructive for Nigeria. The event also aimed to foster international cooperation and promote integrity and transparency in governance.
Professor Sheriff Ghali Ibrahim, Provost of ACAN, remarked on Indonesia's historical role in solidarity among developing nations and its comprehensive anti-corruption strategy.
