ICPC Enhances Data Protection in Anti-Corruption Efforts

At a one-day Data Protection and Privacy Sensitisation and Awareness Programme held at the ICPC headquarters in Abuja, ICPC Chairman Dr Musa Aliyu stressed that public confidence in the agency relies on its ability to protect personal data. Represented by Mr Henry Emore, the Director of Legal Services, Dr Aliyu noted that the Commission handles sensitive information related to various stakeholders, including petitioners and suspects.

He warned that poor data management could harm individuals and undermine institutional credibility. Dr Aliyu described data protection as essential for good governance and urged staff to adhere to principles of accountability and confidentiality.
