Baze University Graduates 928 Youths in Digital Skills

Baze University graduated 928 indigenes of Jigawa State who completed an intensive digital skills training program under the Federal Government’s World Bank-assisted Innovation Development and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) Project. The graduation ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Dutse, attended by Governor Malam Umar Namadi, Minister of Education Dr Moruf Olatunji Alausa, Minister of State for Education Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, and representatives from the World Bank and Baze University.

Dr Alhassan Abdulmutallib, Director of IT Services at Baze University, emphasized the collaboration between federal and state governments, universities, and development partners in equipping youths with digital skills. The graduates received training in high-demand areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, and Software Engineering.

The program initially aimed to train 900 participants but received over 150,000 applications, resulting in 55,500 selected participants. Nationwide, over 4,500 earned Professional Diplomas, and more than 33,000 received Certificates of Participation.
