Hong Challenges Fintiri's Popularity as Governor

Dr. Aliyu Idi Hong, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs, publicly criticized Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, asserting that his ascension to governorship in both 2019 and 2023 was not a result of popularity but rather due to circumstantial factors.

During a visit to the Adamawa APC party secretariat in Yola, Hong advised Fintiri to cease his claims of popularity and reminded him that his victories were contingent on the political climate at the time. He emphasized that the people of Adamawa deserve authentic leadership and urged the governor to reconsider his approach to governance.

Hong also mentioned that there are speculations regarding potential defections to the APC, including former Deputy Speaker Hon. Emmanuel Tsamdu from the PDP.

He called for a dismantling of the existing political structure that he believes does not serve the interests of the people.
