Governor Fintiri's Top Ally and SSA Defect from PDP in Adamawa State

Governor Fintiri of Adamawa State faced a blow as his top ally, Dr. Idi Hong, and Senior Special Assistant Moham Sanusi defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP).

Hong, a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, resigned from the PDP citing personal reasons, while Sanusi, who previously served as the campaign DG for Senator Aishatu Binani of the APC, also announced his departure. Hong emphasized that his decision was based on personal judgment, while Sanusi acknowledged his journey with the PDP but expressed gratitude for the experience gained.

The defections come amidst rumors of Fintiri potentially leaving the PDP, with both Hong and Sanusi choosing to align themselves differently ahead of the 2023 elections.
