Idongesit Siblings Launch 2026 Fencing Campaign at Junior World Cup in Cairo

Idongesit siblings, Sara Mahathir Idongesit and Idongesit, are set to launch their 2026 season at the FIE Junior World Cup in Cairo, Egypt on January 30-31. Sara Mahathir is a prominent Nigerian fencer, ranked among Africa's active fencers in 2025.

The siblings will depart Nigeria on January 25 to join a training camp organized by FIE in Cairo. Sara Mahathir will compete in the women's junior category, facing tough competition from top global and African fencers, including Shamel Youssef.

The Idongesit siblings made their international debut for Nigeria at the 2025 African Championship in Lagos, gaining valuable exposure. The 2026 Commonwealth Championship in Lagos will see the participation of 30 countries, including Egypt, Algeria, Russia, and others.
